5 For operational efficiency, MPA has engaged the services of a local oil spill response company for deployment of these equipment Basically, the services include the provision of manpower, crafts and other ancillary equipment for the placement of oil booms, skimmers. etc, at locations stipulated by the Authority.

6 Computer equipment for the OSPAR Project is working satisfactorily. A new database file was updated into the system.
USE OF EQUIPMENT
7 There were 21 cases of oil pollution in Singapore waters in 1995. Most of these pollution were cleaned up before they could endanger shore properties. As PSA's and oil industry resources were sufficient to clean the pollution, OSPAR equipment were not deployed.
FUTURE PLANS
8 MPA will continue to maintain the OSPAR oil spill equipment in an operational ready condition.
